After purchasing your domain and web hosting what next? You need to install the Content management system (wordpress platform) to make your site go live.
How to install wordpress on Namecheap hosted website
Today, in this tutorial I will be showing you how to install wordpress in few clicks. To do this you need to have access to your control panel account (cpanel) which should be giving to you after making purchase on domain and hosting.
There will be a lot of information on your computer screen as we proceed, just ignore it and follow my step-by-step guide. I will definitely show you guys exactly what you need to do.

Step one> Login into your cpanel
After purchasing a domain and webhosting from Namecheap, you will be giving a URL to access your cpanel account. Your URL should look like this https://server244.web-hosting.com:1447/. Now, login using your credentials.

Step two> Search and Open Softaculous Apps Installer
Navigate to Exclusive for Namecheap customers section > Softaculous Apps Installer menu and click it
Step three> click the wordpress icon
On the homepage, click on the WordPress icon.
Step five> Switch to the Install tab to proceed
Click on the blue icon “Install” button near the upper part of your screen and also click “Install Now”
Step six>Fill out the details of your WP installation
On the next page you will need to fill out the details of your WordPress installation.
- Choose the domain you wish to install WordPress for
- In the In Directory field you can specify the root folder for WordPress installation. By default, this field is empty, and it allows installing WordPress on yourdomain.com directly. If you wish to install it to a subfolder, like yourdomain.com/blog, simply type “blog” in this field.
- Database Name can be left default.
- Table Prefix can also be left default wp_; however, due to security reasons it is better to change it, e.g., to ncwpsite_ .
- The Site Settings section should be filled out accordingly to your needs, though you can change it anytime later if required.
Note: Make sure you set up secure and hard-to guess details in the Admin Account section
Step seven> click install for your wordpress to be installed
When done putting in your information, scroll down and hit Install.
In a few seconds, you will see the message that WordPress has been successfully installed:
You can now go ahead and log into your WordPress Dashboard to start working on your website. your dashboard URL will look like this: http//yourdomain.com/wp-admin. then it will open a login box where you will text in your username and password.
when you reach the last stage you can login and start working on your site by uploading your choice template, installing plugins and doing some important tweaking to make your site sweet and friendly. i hope this tutorial will help you to learn how to install Namecheap on your wordpress hosted website.
